Counterfeit Detector Use Instructions

• Shake well, remove cap (dispose of if you like) and invert bottle.
• Press down and rub (do not squeeze) Counterfeit Detector applicator on  darkest printed area of bill (the black Federal seal on the left side of the bill works well) two or three times in a back and forth motion.

• If applicator turns black the bill is most likely counterfeit. The bill will most likely be defaced as well, preventing further circulation of the bill.

• If the applicator is clean the bill is most likely genuine. On occasion you may see a light gray residue on the applicator. This is usually due to testing bills that are old and/or soiled.

Cleaning Counterfeit Detector Tip:

• If applicator has turned black after use, press down and rub applicator onto any clean non-printed paper surface or paper towel until applicator is clean.

Tips for Cashiers if you do detect a Counterfeit Bill:

• Return it to the customer and simply say you can not accept this bill…
• OR ask the customer to wait while you have the manager check the bill for you.
• DO NOT confront the customer which gave this bill to you directly in a forceful manner.

Business Managers should discuss with all employees the proper direction/action to take when counterfeit bills are detected.
